Circular Tourism

Albania

Project

CIRCULAR TOURISM is an ambitious initiative focused on fostering sustainable tourism practices in Albania through the principles of the circular economy. By equipping VET schools, educators, and SMEs in the tourism sector with the necessary skills, knowledge, and networks, the project aims to drive a transition toward a more resource-efficient and environmentally friendly tourism industry. With a strong emphasis on education-business collaboration, international exchange, and vocational training, the initiative enhances the capacity of tourism professionals to implement sustainability-driven solutions.

The project facilitates structured learning experiences, including study visits to Germany, France, and Spain, providing first-hand exposure to successful circular tourism models. Additionally, it offers specialised capacity-building programmes, practical workshops, mentoring for SMEs, and online resources to embed circular economy principles into tourism operations. By aligning with EU and Western Balkans Green Agenda priorities, CIRCULAR TOURISM ensures Albania is well-positioned to manage its increasing tourism demand while maintaining ecological and economic resilience. This initiative is a crucial step toward sustainable tourism development, fostering long-term industry growth and improving Albania’s attractiveness as a destination.
